Our Story
Hi,
We’re Sam and Charlotte.
The people behind Samplet Studios.
We met at work 12 years ago and have been together ever since.
We are both naturally calm and organised, which carries through into everything we do. From the way we plan shoots to how we work on the day, we keep things simple and relaxed.
Samplet Studios started as something completely different. While on maternity leave, we began designing seamless patterns for handmade clothing so Elijah could have his own bespoke outfits. From there, things naturally grew.
Sam had always been into photography, and what started as a hobby quickly became something more. With the level of time, care and equipment involved, it made sense to turn it into a business and do it properly.
The PHotographer
Sam Towle
Sam is the one behind the camera.
He has a calm and observant approach, knowing when to step in and when to step back. During group shots he takes the lead, but for the rest of the time he lets things flow naturally.
People often expect to feel awkward, but that quickly disappears. Sam puts people at ease from the start, keeping everything relaxed and easy.
He has a natural eye for the moments others might miss. The small reactions, the quiet glances, the real emotions.
A perfectionist at heart, he takes pride in turning simple moments into something special.
Our Style
Our approach is simple. We capture moments as they are happening.
There is very little posing. No pressure. No over direction. Just a relaxed environment where you can be yourself.
Sam will guide you when needed, but most of the time he stays in the background. That is where the best moments happen.
People often come to us worried about posing or not knowing what to do. That is exactly why we keep things natural. You do not need to perform, you just need to be present.
What We Love
We love working with people who trust the process and give us the freedom to do what we do best.
The aim is always the same. To make you feel completely relaxed during your shoot, and then completely amazed when you see your final images.
You have seen the setup. You have been there in the moment. But nothing quite prepares you for how it all comes together.
A bit more about us
We both work full time alongside running Samplet Studios. Charlotte works in marketing and Sam works in IT.
At home, Elijah is usually at the other end of the camera, along with Freddie the cat. They are our go to models when testing setups and ideas.
Sam also takes his coffee very seriously. If you are booking with us, you are always welcome to come round for a coffee and chat through your plans. Or we can meet somewhere like Costa if that feels easier.
What should we wear?
Wear what you’re comfortable in.
Neutral tones and simple outfits work really well, but don’t overthink it. If you feel good, it will show in your photos.
Where do the sessions take place?
We are based in Hull but can travel to surrounding areas.
Sessions can take place at home, outdoors or at a chosen location. We will work with you to decide what works best.
When will we receive our photos?
You'll receive a 'sneak peek' gallery within 48 hours. Your full, high-resolution digital gallery will be delivered via a private online link within 3 to 4 weeks of your shoot for weddings or within 7 days for other shoots.
What if we feel awkward?
That is completely normal.
It usually lasts about five minutes. After that, it just feels like a normal moment rather than a photoshoot.
Can we meet before booking?
Of course.
You are always welcome to come for a coffee and chat through your plans, or we can meet somewhere like Costa if that is easier.
Do you cover weddings outside of Hull?
Yes, we are happy to travel.
Just let us know your plans and we can talk through the details.
